18 - 22 June 2022
RAZDEDAUCH Meeting and Performances
Stameriena Palace, Stameriena, Latvia
June 21 is the longest day, and on that day everyone had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Stameriena castle in Latvia and watch the dance performance-promenade "Razdedauch" there.
Stameriena is located 250 km from Riga in a beautiful natural environment, and the castle there is currently used as an art residency. Our team was there from 18 to 22 June 2022, developing the production idea in the context of this incredibly beautiful space. As part of our residency we met with Latvian dance researchers, conducted creative conversations and workshops and performed "Razdedauch" twice. We were delighted to have two guest performers with us for this event: Mark Haim, choreographer based in the USA and Anton Ovtsinnikov, choreographer based in the Ukraine. As well as dancing with us, Mark is an accomplished pianist and was more than happy to play on the numerous pianos dotted throughout the palace, offering a beautiful musical environment for some parts of the performance. Anton also added another rich layer of sound immersion with recitals of poetry he has written from his experience of the past months.
